Hello, and welcome to "The Castle". My name is Angie Hicks, and I'd like to take a moment to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a native of Cobb County. I attended LaBelle Elementary, JJ Daniell Middle, and Sprayberry High Schools. My first year of undergraduate study was spent at Berry College. I completed the remainder of my college experience at Georgia State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I completed my Masters Degree Program in Reading at The State University of West Georgia.
Once I graduated with my teaching degree, I began my career at Fair Oaks Elementary School in Austell. In 1995, I got married and transferred to Compton Elementary School where I spent 8 years teaching 1st and 2nd graders. In 2002, I transferred to Vaughan Elementary School where I taught 2nd and 3rd graders for 6 years. In 2008, I had the great priveledge of opening Pickett's Mill Elementary school where I plan to grow old!!
On a more personal note, I love to dance, read and go to the movies with my wonderful husband, Mika. I also enjoy playing Wii with my children. My oldest, Victoria, will be in 7th grade this year. She loves to play softball and basketball. She also reads and texts non-stop (your typical middle-schooler). Victoria is a wonderful big sister to the youngest member of the Hicks household...Robbie. He is very excited about being in 1st grade here at Pickett's Mill this year. Robbie is a typical 6 year old boy who loves cars, football, baseball and also gains great pleasure from harassing his big sister :0). They keep me well entertained!
I am thrilled to be joining you all as we embark on our fourth year at Pickett's Mill. I can't wait to learn more about you as we enjoy the magical journey through 2nd grade together! It is sure to be an amazing adventure we'll never forget!!!
