Wow what a week! The Lords and Ladies have been busy little bees!! The Fire Safety field trip was amazing. Hopefully your child came home and shared with you all that they learned while they were at the village.  I want to thank Mrs. Ferguson for taking time out of her schedule to come with us.  She was a huge help!

The practice CRCT is behind us and all students gave their best effort.  I was very proud of how hard they worked and how they never gave up, especially during the math -  some of our amazing mathematicians were even double checking their work along the way!!!

Information about the 2nd annual MARKET DAY came home recently, as well as a letter about spelling for the rest of the year. Please begin reflecting and planning what to do for the Market Day Project due on MAY 4. We will be discussing supply and demand, price, and other things for reflection on the last project. Students may do the same thing or something totally different. The purpose is to learn from the previous Market Day to make this one even BETTER!

A letter about special days for the end of the year will be coming this week as well.  Please look over all this important information and let me know if you will be able to help out with donations for these days.  We have worked hard this year and I would love to end the year with some very fun, educational theme days.

Look for an invitation to our Royal Reading Room Author's Breakfast.  Students will have the opportunity to show off all their published writing pieces from this year.  The date is Tuesday, May 8th at 7:15.

Spring Fling Outreach Project! Please Donate...

 

 The Pickett’s Mill Student Council will be collecting food items for the “Summer Lunch” program for Must Ministries.  Must Ministries serves more than 100,000 lunches to hungry children in Cobb and Cherokee Counties during the summer months.  These are children living in poverty that would not have lunch if it were not for the “Summer Lunch” program.  Pickett’s Mill Student Council will be collecting the following items at Spring Fling on Friday night, April 27.  Please help us help the needy children in our community.

Requested Items:

1.       Individual bags of salty snacks (chips, pretzels, etc.)
2.       Juice Boxes
3.       Jars of peanut butter
4.       Jars of Jelly
5.       Individual packs of cookies.

Fire Lane Warning

Fire Lane Warning
We had a visit from the Public Safety Officer who checks on fire lanes at the schools recently. He wrote a few warning tickets to parents who were cued up in the car pool line prior to 1:40pm. He informed us that the car pool line should not begin before 1:40pm and should not last beyond 2:40pm. He stated that many tickets have been written at other schools and they can charge fees up to $100.00.

Early Release Days

Early Release Schedule For May 23, 24
All Cobb County students will be dismissed early for the final two days of the school year, Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24. The early release schedule for each academic level is as follows:

• High Schools: ALL Students released at 11:30 a.m.
  (No regular dismissal at 3:30 p.m.)
• Middle Schools: Students released at 1:30 p.m.
• Elementary Schools: Students released at 12:30 p.m.
  (After-School Programs begin immediately after dismissal)

Buses will begin their normal routes at the early dismissal times for each level. These early release times have been added to the Cobb County School District master calendar, available to view and sync with your smartphone at http://www.cobbk12.org/generalinfo/calendars.

News from Allatoona

Allatoona High School will be here on March 28th to do a short performance from Beauty and the Beast! They are coming here to help them prepare for their big performances on April 13, 14, and 15. Please consider going to one of the shows, it's going to be GREAT!
