Week of April 16th

FiresafetyAnd yet another week has passed in The Pirate Pad..... This upcoming week is full of schedule changes so please be aware. On Monday, we will be leaving the school a little after 9:00 a.m. for the Fire Safety Village. PLEASE make sure that the children are dressed appropriately as part of the activities require us being up, down, climbing out of windows, inside, outside, etc. Tennis shoes would be a true benefit. Wednesday and Thursday we will be taking the CRCT in Second Grade first thing each morning. The upper grades will be testing for five days total starting on Wednesday so we will be on a different schedule school wide starting Wednesday through next Tuesday. Our lunch will stay the same, however, we will be going to Specials from 12:00-12:30 on those days. Mystery Word: testing. PLEASE make sure that the children are getting lots of sleep and a good hearty breakfast each morning before testing. Thank you in advance!

Hats ATTENTION

ALL PICKETT’S MILL PIRATES

                                                 

Ahoy there matey’s!  We’re having our first hat day of the year on Thursday, September 29th.  Those students and faculty members, who would like to show their spirit, can wear their hat for a small donation of $1.00.  All donations will go towards our Relay for Life Team, which in turn is donated to the American Cancer Society.

 

Regulations:

1.      Hats should be of a reasonable size (make sure the person sitting behind you can see).

2.    Hats must be worn appropriately, which means no hats can be worn with the bill in the back or on the sides.

3.    Hats cannot be a distraction inside the classroom.

 

When you enter into your classroom, simply place your $1.00 in the envelope provided, and you may enjoy wearing your hat for the entire day.

Wellness for the Family

What's up 
Speaking about Wellness for the Family program that is being offered for FREE in Cobb County in September. This program is based on the We Can! curriculum created by the National Institutes of Health and it focuses on healthy families, healthy eating, reducing screen time, and increasing physical activity. Parents and children both attend this program and dinner is provided.  Fliers and more information ca be found on the web.
