The Great Pirate Penny Round-Up
The annual United Way pledge campaign kicked off last week. The Kindergarten and First Grade students are teaming up to Round-up some pennies for a great cause—The United Way!

Do you want to learn more about the 7 Habits? Teachers and administrators will guide you through an overview of the habits and give suggestions for implementing at home. Support us in developing leadership in our children and help us to achieve "Leader in Me Lighthouse School" status.

Wow! All of the residents of Whoville would like to say "THANK YOU" to all the parents that helped to make the "Fall Centers" incredible. Who knew Halloween could be so educational? The children learned about measuring, subtracting & adding money, nutritional snacks, adjectives, estimation, creating a lantern and much more. As if that wasn't enough, the children were served amazing snacks like Bat Cheese Balls, Cheese Stick Fingers, Coffin Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwiches, Dinosaur Eggs, Gummy Worms, Vegetables of all kinds, Monster Apple Mouths and of course Frankenstein Pudding Cups. Just wait until you see the pictures of the extravaganza, you will be amazed!

Fall Center Reminders
A Quick message from the wonderful room moms . . .
* Please send a sack lunch with your child on Friday instead of buying a lunch
* Please send in a roll of CHEAP toilet paper by Friday
* We are still collecting $4 to cover the educational Fall, Thanksgiving & Winter Holiday centers. Please contribute if you can. You can send your donation in an envelope marked "Room Parent".

Dear Pirate Parents,
Did you know??? You can check the status of your children's lunch account on-line? To do this, go to the Pickett's Mill Elementary School website, & click on the "MealPay Plus" link on the left hand side of the web page. To access, you will need your childs ID #, which is the same as their computer login #. Most of the kids know this # by memory and should be able to tell you what it is.
THIS IS BEING BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION BECAUSE: This information is not only helpful to you, but also it will keep your childs meal account in the positive...many are in the red right now.
*If you send a check to school with your child--for lunch pursposes--please include the following on the MEMO Line:
* First & Last Name(s)
* Computer/ID# (No need to put the name of the teacher or the grade your child is in)
* If you send cash to school with your child, PLEASE make sure the name of the child is on the front of whatever means the $$$ was sent in!!
