Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best way to contact Mrs. Largent?
With limited access to phones at school, it is best
to reach me through email. I do check my emails
daily, but the time varies (usually before and after school
and occasionally midday if possible).Transportation changes
should be sent directly to the front office
.

My email is:
carol.largent@cobbk12.org

How will my child use the agenda?

Your child will record their weekly homework in
their agenda every Monday.
Each night you should check that the homework
has been completed and sign your child's agenda.
Weekly phonics words will be stapled in your child's
agenda- please do not remove these as they will be
used throughout the week at school as well as at home.
Any behavioral or work study habit concerns will be
recorded in the agenda by your child's teacher on a
daily basis.
Any important notes to or from school should be
placed in the clear pocket at the front of your child's
W.O.C.K.E.T.
What is the Thursday weekly folder for?
This folder is used to send home weekly behavior
reports, newsletters, graded papers and other important
forms. You should read through all information in this
folder each
Thursday evening, remove the paperwork, sign
the behavior form, and return it to school on
Friday morning.
What if my child is going home a different way
than usual?

All transportation changes must be submitted in
writing prior to 1:30 on the day of the change. For
your convenience, a transportation change form is
provided on this site under "Handy Who Forms".
If the change occurs during the school day you
must call, drop off or fax in a written note.
Can I celebrate my child's birthday at school?
As always, I try to protect all instructional time
as much as possible. So, to honor your child on
this most important day, I ask that all treats be
brought in during lunch. Treats can be cookies,
cake, cupcakes, etc. Please make sure to bring
enough for the entire class however. (18 in all)
What if my child is absent?
Any absent work that needs to be made up will
come home on the 1st day of your child's return.
Please complete and return the papers in a timely manner.
Also, please remember that all absences should
be documented with an excuse note from home.
All excuse notes must be submitted within 48 hours
of the absence telling the school the reason for
your child's absence.
How can I help my child with the weekly phonics
words?

There are 9 Spelling Contracts available for your use.
These contracts provide fun hands-on ways to practice
the weekly words. Unless noted as homework in your
child's agenda, these are to be used as an extra
resource for you only. They are not required unless
noted in the agenda and sent home with your child.
What if my child turns in their work late?
Your child is expected to turn in all homework,
class work and extra credit work (such as Whooza Palooza
Questions
) on time. All late homework or class work
will result in a classroom consequence and a mark in
their weekly folder. All late Whooza Palooza Questions will be
looked over, but will not count towards their
Whooza Palooza point total. There will be no class consequence or mark
in weekly folders for late Whooza Palooza Questions since these
are part of an extra credit program.

What important times do I need to know about in
my child's schedule?

*School Starts at 7:50 (arrival after this results in a recorded
  tardy)
*Specials are from  8:05-8:50 (remember to have your child wear tennis
  shoes for PE days)
*Lunch is from 11:19-11:49
*Dismissal begins at 2:15

Will my child have a snack time daily?
Yes. However, please send in healthy snacks (no candy
please) and only water for a drink (we don’t want to attract
any pesky ants). Class snacks are not provided
so please remind your child to pack a snack daily!
