Our theme for Field Day this year will be AlohaPallooza - The "Lu-Wow" Games. It should be a lot of fun! The dates for Field Day(s) will be 3rd - 5th Grade - Thursday, May 19 and K- 2nd - Friday, May 20.
Here some notes for this year's field day:
- The 3 color format will stay the same
- Some events will change and will reflect the 2011 theme
- We will have the Allatoona students and a few Watchdog Dads again this year at the events
- We want each class to bring in 1 tent to set up a tent village that your classes can go to as a home base for break times and/or lunch. You can keep your coolers there and anything else that is hard to carry around. The PE department can not provide the tents. If each classroom teacher requests it through their class blogs or newsletters, hopefully each class will have one. If no one in your class can provide a tent, maybe you can share with another class.
- Each class should have at least 1 parent volunteer to help you rotate your classes around the school. They can also help with the events (demonstrate and explain) if the Allatoona students are not there. Let me know if you would like to volunteer that day.
- The PE Department will be selling Leis the week of Field Day for 50 cents. It would be great if the students bought Laes that are color coordinated with their Team Colors...blue, green or yellow
