Math Extra Credit

Ok, my little ghosts and goblins.....

You don't have math homework tonight; however, if you want to earn a little extra credit (I never do this, so enjoy while you have the chance), create a graph of the candy you collect after trick-or-treating. You will probably have a large variety, so graph the most common and list the random candies as "other".  Use the following website to assist you: Create A Graph

P.S.  Your teacher likes Mounds and Almond Joys. :)  Kidns normally hate these, so it is a win-win.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Your child has an Explorer (History/Social Studies) project due on Monday, October 31st. We have done most of the research in class, but not all of it.  This project has to be done at home.  I have given all of the kids a rubric to guide their project/presentation.  They have had this in their possession for almost 2 weeks. Since they get out of school 2 hours early each day this week, it is the perfect time to do research, "make" their costume and practice their presentation.  This project will be taken for a grade and it is imperative that they give their best effort.  Download Explorer Presentation

Reminders

A few reminders about next week:

• Conference Week is next week. Download Conference Notice
• The school day begins at 7:50.  Kids may enter the building at 7:05.  (This is the same as always.)
• Our specials rotation will remain the same; however, we will go from 8:40-9:10.
• Our lunch   brunch is from 10:39-11:09.
• The school day ENDS at 12:10.
• The book fair will be going on throughout the week.  Since your child will be attending conferences with you, it would be the perfect time to take them to pick out a great book.  Please see the website.

Pickett's Mill Family Hoe~Down

Please join us for a ROOTIN’ TOOTIN’ good time!

We hope you will be able to make it for the Friday, October 21st Family Hoe~Down! This will be a fun night of dancing and activities. Please turn in the Relay for Life Hoe~Down Dinner Request form by this Friday, October 14th. (This is a green paper that was sent home last week in the Tuesday PTA folder. This will help our Relay For Life team plan for the number of pizza and hot dog meals.
