CONVERGENT: Cryptokids-we answered 8 questions using the website from the blog; Letter Frequency was an activity that we discovered the 3 most frequently used letters and the 3 least frequently used letters in the English language. By the data collected we were very close to many of the expert cryptographers! Great job!

DIVERGENT: Word Value-after learning the letter frequency each letter from the alphabet was assigned a value. You were asked to create the highest scoring sentence using the chart. Congratulations Drew D for your high scoring sentence!

EVALUATIVE: The two main types of ciphers are transposition and substitution. Using the website Cryptokids recall the specific ways you can create a cipher. Your blog response is to either give us the cipher phrase on the blog or the words: pig's pen. First decide on what you want the message to be for the class(plain text phrase). Second decide which code you want to use. Third create the cipher text and the key. Fourth you will either put the plain text on the blog if you have used the pig's pen code, otherwise you can put the cipher phrase on the blog and we will decode your message next week. If you are having trouble with this PLEASE come see me before your next Target day for extra help.

SELF REFLECTION: Goals/Journals-Your long term goal is set and you need to create your short term goal by reflecting on your day. Your journal is a good source for looking at your strengths and weaknesses.

SELF DIRECTED LEARNER: Vocabulary study-SUPER job! Everyone scored perfect 3/3 this week! Keep it up. Next week you have only 8 words to receive a ribbit.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS: You really showed this when you played scrabble this morning as a group.

This was another shortened day due to ITBS testing! CONGRATULATIONS for winning the class points title!

Relationships and Connections: Chasing Vermeer chapter 11 and 12-We talked a great deal about coincidences. Be a detective this week and try and find a coincidence in your own life. Your blog response is to write to me 3-5 well written sentences about the coincidence. If you can't think of an original one that happens around you this week you can use one that we have discussed in class. We talked about at least 3 today in our classroom!
