Today we used our convergent, divergent and evaluative thinking skills while in our forensic centers. A big thanks to Mrs. Haag for heading up the Tape Lift station, Mrs. Helligrath for heading up the secret note station and watching over dna and pH ice cube station. I ran the mystery powders station. Thanks to my mom helpers. We could never do this without your help!
Speaking of help, next week is our last week of Target. I would love to have a parent volunteer to head up snacks. If you are interested in that please contact me. Otherwise we will just watch our celebration movie without snacks.
Relationships and Connections: We completed our Chasing Vermeer book. Congratulations to Marie!!! She scored overall 87/89 of the vocabulary words! That is quite an accomplishment.
Self Reflection: Journals/Goals-Please use your journal to write a goal that you can accomplish for next week's Target class.
Self Directed Learner: Blog response: How did you feel about the mystery unit? Please support your answer with 3-5 well written sentences.
Respect for Others: You show this when working with your detective teams.
Don't forget: Check blog; TT; book; 12/15 is our last week of Target until after testing. You are not required to bring anything except your lovely self and a pencil to class.
I really like the mystery unit. I like it because of the giant murder mystery with all the fun stuff like the brown stain, the smells and the towel, the note, and I especially like the DNA testing. I also like it because I like plain target so it's a mix of mysteries and target. :)

Hi,
I didn't like the unit. There were too many tests. Also, I would like to do more of a doing unit not just watching. And I don't really mysteries or writing which we did a lot of.
Hopefully the next unit will be more exciting.
Bye

I liked the mystery unit. I liked it because you never new what would happen next. My favorite part was the forensic centers. When Felix got murdered the centers gave us clues about who murdered him. We were like real detectives. I thought Chasing Vermeer was very interesting. That is why I liked this unit.

I liked the unit because I loved learning about mysteries. I also like how the stations helped us figure out who did the crime. I learned that you can use science to help you solve a mystery.

Hi I loved the mystery unit because it was mysterious. Also because the book Chasing Vermeer never stopped making me wonder what will happen next. I loved solving how Felix died and who killed him. You guys (and girls) only have three guesses to guess who I am. Hint I like to learn about the Titanic so only my classmates know me.
BYE!!!!!!!
