Today we used our convergent, divergent and evaluative thinking skills while in our forensic centers. A big thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Davis for heading up the Tape Lift station; Mrs. Kim for heading up the secret note station; Mrs. Greaux for heading up the dna station; Mrs. Fouts for heading up the pH ice cube station and Mrs. Willingham for heading up the mystery powder station. A shout out to our watchdog dad Mr. Rann for stopping by and helping out too! We could never do this without your help! Speaking of help, next week is our last week of Target, Mrs. Fouts will contact you all to help out with snacks for our celebration.
Relationships and Connections: We completed our Chasing Vermeer book. Congratulations to Drew!!! He scored overall 83/86 of the vocabulary words! That is quite an accomplishment.
Self Reflection: Journals/Goals-Please use your journal to write a goal that you can accomplish for next week's Target class.
Self Directed Learner: Blog response: How did you feel about the mystery unit? Please support your answer with 3-5 well written sentences.
Respect for Others: You show this when working with your detective teams.
Don't forget: Check blog; TT; book; 12/16 is our last week of Target until after testing. You are not required to bring anything except your lovely self and a pencil to class.
I loved the unit allot because I enjoy solving mysteries, especially difficult mysteries. My favorite station was Mrs. Kim's decoding the letter station because it gave us most of the answers to solve the mystery. I'm sad the mystery unit is over but hope the next unit is just as exciting.

I liked the mystery unit because of the crime scene. That was the coolest part, because I felt like I was in a real crime. I also liked the backpack mystery because I felt like a real detective. Now that I'm a good detective, I can figure out who stole my fries at dinner!

I thought the mystery unit was one of the best units I've had yet! It was because we actually got to solve a real crime unlike the others I've had like in the bat unit we didn't see a real bat. My favorite part was jotting down notes about the crime. Also, the book Chasing Vermeer was pretty good too.

I really liked the mystery unit. Solving the mystery was very challenging, but eventually I figured it out. I learned a lot of new vocabulary words like pun and unconscious. I liked that we had notebooks to keep all of our facts in. I think future classes would enjoy the mystery unit, too.

I loved the mystery unit! It was my favorite one yet. I liked it because it was exciting to figure out who the suspect was. Also I liked all the different stations we did. My favorite station was the smelling station because I liked all the smells, even though it gave me a headache. I can't wait for our celebration.

I learned a lot from the mystery unit. The vocabulary from Chasing Vermeer tested me with the challenging words. Also, I learned how detectives work during a real crime scene. I liked that we got to do the crime scene centers because it was fun discovering new things.
