Thanks to Mrs. Fouts for co-ordinating the snacks for our end of the day celebration. The kids loved all the tasty treats. I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
The entire month of January is testing month for possible qualifications of 1st, 3rd, and 5th graders. This may adjust your child's Target day. Look for future information near the end of January.
Thank you so very much for sending in all of the goodies! The kids really enjoyed the delicious grapes, cookies, brownies, chips, doritos, crackers, popcorn, water, and Caprisuns! Look for information about Target starting back end of January/beginning of February. Testing of 1st, 3rd and 5th graders will take place in January so based on the results your child's day may change.
THANK YOU!!! It was a great day today in Target. Our bridge competition was exciting and then our celebration was cool! Thanks for everyone sending in snacks. The kids devoured them! A special thanks to Mrs. Sullivan for co-ordinating the whole snack event.

Words cannot express how thankful I am just for you being in my class! But the party was amazing! And my gifts were so sweet.
A big shout out to all of you for donating to this party. Mrs. Flynn was able to buy pizzas and sprites that we enjoyed after lunch. She also popped popcorn for the movie. Mrs. Lea made a beautiful bridge cookie cake. Mrs. Slade made us fancy pretzels. Mrs. Moore brought in regular pretzels. Mrs. Lavelle brought us in some fruit. Whew! What a feast!!! And I apologize if I left anyone off the list of bring ins.
And we are not through yet! I am speechless! Your generosity overwhelms me. I will be pampered at Elite Nails, fed at Chick-fil-A and then sparkled by Charming Charlie's. I also received a beautiful frog statue that is reading to a smaller frog. It is precious just like my students.
I love you all and can't wait for February when we start our next unit!
Today we used our convergent, divergent and evaluative thinking skills while in our forensic centers. A big thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Davis for heading up the Tape Lift station; Mrs. Kim for heading up the secret note station; Mrs. Greaux for heading up the dna station; Mrs. Fouts for heading up the pH ice cube station and Mrs. Willingham for heading up the mystery powder station. A shout out to our watchdog dad Mr. Rann for stopping by and helping out too! We could never do this without your help! Speaking of help, next week is our last week of Target, Mrs. Fouts will contact you all to help out with snacks for our celebration.
Relationships and Connections: We completed our Chasing Vermeer book. Congratulations to Drew!!! He scored overall 83/86 of the vocabulary words! That is quite an accomplishment.

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS: If I Were A Bridge (part 2) was a really nice job for most of you. If you made less than you expected you may have a 2nd chance to complete.
SELF REFLECTION: Using your journal please write a sensible goal for yourself next week. You should have your long term goal already in place. BLOG RESPONSE: Reflect on all of your units in Target. Write 3-5 sentences telling which was your favorite unit and why. Don't forget perfect spelling and grammar.
SELF DIRECTED LEARNER: Test was today. I was not as happy with the results as I thought because I felt they should have been higher with 3 weeks to study for the test. Only 15 people took the test but our class avg was 84; 4-A's; 6-B's; 4-C's; 2-D's and 0-F. DON'T FORGET TO GET YOUR TEST SIGNED.
RESPECT FOR OTHERS: When you built your bridges this afternoon you showed respect for others by doing your best.

Next week is our last Target day until testing is completed. With that said, we will have our big bridge competition on Dec. 14 at 10:30 for all parents interested in watching the excitement. RELATIONSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS: Majestic Connections was a let down today. Most of you did not follow directions even after you had an extra week to work on it. This was a big disappointment to me.
SELF REFLECTION: Journals/Goals-Are you being a good direction follower? How did you do on your If I Were a Bridge...part 2? How about your Majestic Connections? Remember to write a new short term goal and be sure your long term goal of "following directions better" is a goal you practice!
SELF DIRECTED LEARNER: Test was today. Overall average of the class was 87. We had 7-A's; 6-B's; 2-C's and 1-D. You had over three weeks to study. Thanks to all of you who worked so hard! Please get your test signed regardless of your grade! Your parents will want to know how you did.
RESPECT FOR OTHERS: Building the bridge as a team requires you to show respect at all times
