States of Matter - 1

S2P1 Students will investigate the properties of matter and changes that occur in objects.
a.   Identify the three common states of matter as solid, liquid, or gas.
b.   Investigate changes in objects by tearing, dissolving, melting, squeezing, etc.

S4E3 Students will differentiate between the states of water and how they relate to the water cycle and weather.
a.   Demonstrate how water changes states from solid (ice) to liquid (water) to gas (water vapor/steam) and changes from gas to liquid to solid.
b.   Identify the temperatures at which water becomes a solid and at which water becomes a gas.
c.   Investigate how clouds are formed.
d.   Explain the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, and precipitation).
e.   Investigate different forms of precipitation and sky conditions (rain, snow, sleet, hail, clouds, and fog).

Writing With SYmbols Adapted Texts

The University of  North Carolina , Charlotte received a grant for the development of adapted literature materials and the books are many which are used in general education throughout our state.

You will need to have the software, "Writing with Symbols" from Mayer-Johnson, LLC in order to open and use these materials.

Regions of Georgia

Basic numbers - 1-10

To help student practice counting - counting cards can be integrated into other teaching topics.

Addition

We combined chips or drinks in the cafeteria and took pictures of the students
being actively involved. This can also be used for generalization.
