If you are a Georgia teacher you can request a CD from the DOE with an adapted book and support materials for The Very Hungry Caterpillar which is appropriate for grades K-2. There are a lot of fun activities that support this book. HEre are a few that were shared by teachers:
**we are using "dot letters" (i found them here http://totschool.shannons.org/?p=2112 ) and doing their names, then turning each letter into a caterpillar.
**Since many of our students can't make handprints, we used paint on their toes - the big toe was red and the rest green to make a caterpillar.
